Dr. George K. Ibrahim spent decades as a urologic surgeon — diagnosing complex conditions, performing high-stakes procedures, and building a reputation grounded in precision and trust.
Then came a diagnosis of his own. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Dr. Ibrahim made the decision to step away from the operating room rather than compromise the standard of care his patients deserved. But his commitment to medicine never wavered.
One day, while researching new directions, he came across the emerging field of hormone replacement therapy — and was fascinated by the opportunity to help people feel and look better at a level traditional medicine often overlooked. He pursued a fellowship through the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, and in 2013 opened the practice that would become Biltmore Restorative Medicine & Aesthetics.
Dr. Ibrahim serves on the Advisory Board of The Menopause Association — a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing menopause education, awareness, and access to evidence-based care for women.
The Advisory Board is composed of physicians, researchers, and clinicians whose work has meaningfully contributed to the field. The board guides the Association's clinical positions, educational programming, and advocacy on issues that affect women's hormonal health across the lifespan.
Dr. Ibrahim's place on the Advisory Board reflects three things: a body of clinical work spanning both women's and men's hormonal health, two physician-authored books on the subject, and a long-standing commitment to educating women about options the broader medical system has too often failed to discuss openly.

"Rather than put patients at risk, I retired as a surgeon. My love of medicine and helping others stayed with me throughout my time away from the operating room."
"I opened our anti-aging and sexual wellness center in Asheville in early 2013. My goal was simple — to be the most highly trained, experienced physician practicing hormone optimization, period. The practice later added state-of-the-art, physician-led aesthetic services as our patients demanded them."
"Because of my extensive experience, I am able to help my clients beyond typical hormone replacement therapy. I am an educator — speaking on the dangers of menopause, andropause, and how hormone optimization is the most natural and safest way to lower risks of cardiac disease, Alzheimer's, osteoporosis, and many other ailments."
"We offer tailored hormone treatment to women with mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence. We perform a procedure in the office under local anesthesia, using the body's own growth factors. This procedure has helped countless patients see significant improvement, if not cessation, of their incontinence."
"Our approach at Biltmore Restorative Medicine & Aesthetics looks at the patient as a whole. We don't focus on just one specific part of the body or disease, but rather take a comprehensive approach in our evaluations. Our services are equivalent to those offered in larger metropolitan areas like Charlotte and Atlanta."
"We can't wait to help you feel like YOU again."
Dr. Ibrahim's training combines urologic surgery, anti-aging medicine, and three decades of treating women through every stage of midlife.
Trained as a urologic surgeon at Duke — uniquely prepared to recognize the connection between hormonal decline, pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary incontinence, and vaginal health that other specialists often miss.
Fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine — a credential earned through intensive post-graduate study in hormone optimization and longevity medicine.
Treatments span bioidentical hormone replacement, vaginal rejuvenation, the O-Shot®, PRP for incontinence, peptide therapy, weight management, and advanced aesthetics — all under one physician-led practice.
Biltmore Restorative Medicine & Aesthetics regularly sees patients from Charlotte, Atlanta, and beyond — many of whom consider the care here superior to what's available in their own cities.
For women, that reputation is built on something specific: the willingness to have an honest, evidence-based conversation about hormones, intimacy, incontinence, and aging that most physicians shy away from. Every treatment plan is physician-supervised, personally tailored, and backed by the most advanced technology available.
Two physician-authored books on hormonal health — written for the women and men he treats every day.

He's a proud father of three, a grandfather, and an avid sailor — which is, not coincidentally, where the metaphor at the heart of this book comes from. When he's not seeing patients, he spends his time hiking, traveling, and cooking. It's the same curiosity that drove him from the operating room into restorative medicine that keeps him exploring outside of it.
Consultations are available at Biltmore Restorative Medicine & Aesthetics in Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC — and virtually for out-of-area patients.
